The role of rotary drum granulator in the process of fertilizer production

In the complex process of fertilizer production, the rotary drum granulator plays an indispensable key role, like a powerful "power engine", driving the efficient transformation of fertilizers from raw materials to finished products.

The journey of fertilizer processing begins with the careful preparation of raw materials. Based on scientific fertilizer formulas, accurately select the main elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and various auxiliary additives, and then put them into a large-scale mixing device for thorough mixing. This process is like seasoning in cooking, ensuring that various ingredients are evenly distributed and providing high-quality "ingredients" for subsequent granulation.

The rotary drum granulator mainly consists of a horizontal cylindrical rotary drum, transmission device, feeding system, spraying system, and discharging system. The prepared mixed raw materials are smoothly and evenly fed into the rotating drum through the feeding system. The drum, driven by the transmission device, continues to rotate at a stable speed, which is the "power source" of the entire granulation process.

When the raw materials enter the drum, the cleverly designed copying board inside begins to take effect. The copying board continuously picks up the material with the rotation of the drum, and then evenly scatters it, causing the material to form a dynamic fluidized state inside the drum. At this point, the spraying system begins to work, spraying adhesive and an appropriate amount of water onto the material in a fluidized state. Adhesive is like a magical "bond", while moisture acts as a lubricant and promotes reactions, jointly promoting the gradual aggregation of material particles through continuous collision and friction.

As the drum continues to rotate, these agglomerated particles roll and merge, becoming larger and denser. During this process, the internal structure of the particles gradually stabilizes, and nutrients are more evenly distributed among them. When the particles reach the appropriate size and strength, they are smoothly discharged from the discharge end of the drum, completing the initial granulation process.

However, this is not the end yet. The fertilizer particles that have just come out of the drum may still contain some moisture, and their physical properties need further optimization. Therefore, they are usually transported to subsequent drying, screening, and other processes. In the drying equipment, excess moisture is removed, enhancing the stability of the particles; After screening, particles that do not meet the particle size requirements are separated and processed. Particles that are too large may be crushed and participate in granulation again, while those that are too small will return to the front end to agglomerate and form again.

The rotary drum granulator, with its efficient operation, successfully converts fertilizer raw materials into reliable and high-performance fertilizer products, continuously delivering the "energy package" of hope for agricultural production. It plays an indispensable role in ensuring grain yield and promoting agricultural development.
